Studio Experience

The approximately 2,000 sq. foot studio immerses clients in a unique experience. The
clean and bright layout features a sleek modern white design punctuated by the color
pops of The Barre Code brand. Proprietary studio scents, trend-forward apparel, and
curated playlists mixed just for TBC franchisees are all part of the experience that evokes all five senses. Beyond the lobby, apparel store and changing areas, clients enter the classroom which was designed by HQ on behalf of franchise owners. Inside the classroom, the most effective and positive workout of your life awaits. Constantly changing class styles focus on cardio, strength and restoration with an emphasis on motivation, positivity, and empowerment. SELF Magazine called it “one of the best workout routines in the country” and any person who takes a class will see why.

We assist with the design and building out of your studio. Each of your studios will span 1,500 to 3,000 square feet in a bright and accessible location at the heart of the action in your market. The layout of each studio is customized to the local market and generally features several elements:

  • Storefront which pulls in traffic with its clean, bright and contemporary look
  • Inviting reception and retail space
  • Small changing area and lockers which attracts customers coming from work
  • Classrooms. The heart of the studio is the classroom.
  • Bathroom compliant with local requirements
  • Small office for staff and storage for equipment
  • Optional childcare space.

Revenue Drivers

Your studio has three primary revenue drivers:

  1. Memberships
    Approximately 50% of local memberships are auto-renewing and annual pre-paid memberships. With a near fanatical customer following, The Barre Code owners enjoy a stable customer base. Approximately 40% of customers pre-purchase “class packs” of 5, 10, or 20 single class sessions. The remaining 10% of customers are benefiting from a free trial or other discounted program.
  2. Retail
    Our activewear line is a functional fashion statement. Customers purchase all their retail apparel right from your studio with solid retail margins, and you will spot clients all over town proudly declaring that they live by The Barre Code while serving as living billboards for your business.
  3. Certifications & Training
    One of the best aspects of owning The Barre Code is that your class instructors are not hourly employees but are paid by the classes they teach. This keeps costs down and maximizes your returns. Your instructors pay for the opportunity to become certified instructors through The Barre Code HQ, while generating ancillary revenue for the local owner.

Franchisor Support

Speed to open and speed to profitability is a mantra for The Barre Code. Once the
franchisee chooses their studio space with the help of HQ, a separate team led directly by one of the founders of The Barre Code provides all studio design services for the franchisee. All signage, equipment, sound systems, and every element of the experience are coordinated by HQ out of Chicago, IL. As the physical studio takes shape, the franchisee finalizes hiring of lead trainers who are involved in a seven-week certification program conducted by HQ, which includes in-market visits by the training team! Marketing is supported by the HQ business team and executed by the local franchisee to drive promotional efforts of the Grand Opening. As an owner, each month you receive newly-created class routines, custom-curated playlists, editable social media graphics & marketing materials, national marketing campaigns & brand partnerships, seasonal apparel collections, and hands-on business coaching.
